Blog: Technology As An Organizing Tool
Desktop Shortcuts for Outlook Functions
Sanjay Singh, the brilliant mind behind Take Back Your
Life and other add-ons for Microsoft Outlook, has come up with an amazing
little tip for those of us who use the Tasks and Calendar features of the
program. (If you're not, you need to check out my self-study guide, Maximizing
Your Time With Outlook 2003!)
Sometimes it can be a bit of a bother to switch back and
forth between the Email, Tasks, and Calendar windows, especially if your
computer is a little on the sluggish side. In his blog, Sanjay explains how to
set up Shortcuts
for Task and Appointment Creation in Outlook. These shortcuts allow you to
simply click on an icon on your desktop or Quick Launch bar when you need to
create a new task or appointment. It won't shave hours off your week or anything
like that, but it will make it a lot easier for you to get those things looked
after quickly and easily, with less risk that you'll get distracted from what
you are working on.
I love solutions that you can implement without adding more
software to your system!
