MAKING This Holiday Season the Best!
It's hard to believe that we are less than seven days away
from Thanksgiving Week. It seems like 2008 has just flown by and now it's time
to start wrapping it up.
Speaking of wrapping, one cannot conjure the end of the year
without thinking of holiday gift giving. This has been an extremely, tough year
for many, many folks and we are no way out of the woods yet on all the
financial mayhem that has landed in many people's back yards. Not only back
yards, but front yards as well, and all through their homes and lives.
We are well aware of the struggles throughout our economy
and economies throughout the world. This is not the year for extravaganza
shopping and spending frenzy. This is not the year for over-the-top outrageousness
and ridiculousness. If ever there was a year for smart, sane, and simple gift
giving, this is the year.
So what am I proposing? Take the time we have spent in
holiday seasons past galloping from mall to mall or trolling from website to
website and spend that time making those special someones a present from the
heart.
What could that be? Look at your talents. Can you bake
something salty or sweet or simply scrumptious? Can you provide a skill or
helping hand, such as a woodworking project, handmade item, or simple artistic
expression to those you love and cherish?
What could YOU make? What about your digital photographic
skills? Or maybe you are a Technology Talent and you could give a gift of your
time to someone special to help that person become a bit more technologically
skilled for the New Year.
What services could you MAKE available to the folks on your
holiday gift list? Spend some "think" time during your commute and have a
conversation with yourself on what gifts of you could you give this holiday.
Then go MAKE IT your best holiday season ever!
Until Next Time…
