The Simple Secret To Taking Charge Of Your Time
I heard something the other day that I wanted to share with you. It gave me real pause for thought-- "If you are rushing around or in a hurry you are coming from a place of lack." The message you are sending out is, "There isn't enough time." If you want more time you must think in terms of more time.
If you are saying, "There's never enough time in the day!" this is what you will receive. Not only that, but it feels like time is managing you. The concept of "time management" has been around for years. It implies that you can manage time, but the truth is you can't manage time you can only manage yourself around time.
When you are always in a rush, a slave to clocks and watches you are allowing time to manage you. When your day planner is overflowing because you've said "yes" to every interesting event or project, it's all scheduled back to back with no space in between to breathe and life's "unexpected interruptions" are not taken into account you have given time all the control. There isn't enough time because you haven't added in enough space in between events.
Are you ready to think in terms of abundance and take charge of your time?
The simple secret to taking charge of time is to take charge of yourself first; easy to say not always easy to do. Start by asking, "How much do I truly value my time?" "How important is it for me to spend time with family and friends or by myself pursuing my passion?" "What is it that I'm doing to contribute to the chaos in my life around time?" "Am I thinking from abundance or from scarcity?" Once you become aware of your role then you can start to make the necessary changes.
Here are some great "take charge" time tips you can put into practice today:
- Use a timer or alarm clock
- Put off your distraction
- Plan to arrive at your destination earlier than necessary
- Set clocks and watches ahead five minutes
- Write appointments on your calendar
- Anticipate problems
- Get detailed directions
- Don't schedule early morning appointments if you're not an early morning person
- Plan the night before for the next day
- Plan meals in advance
- Learn to time yourself with tasks
- Instead of saying "I never have enough time." say, "I have all the time I need." Our thoughts are very powerful and drive our experiences.
These are simple and doable tips that will eliminate frustration, anxiety and worry. When you approach your life feeling in control of yourself and your time whatever life deals you along the way will be handled with much more grace and ease. And you will have a feeling of abundance.
Choose one of these tips to put into practice and then observe what happens.
To Your Total Spaciousness and Abundance!
