 Home Office out of whack!
My home office has been turned upside down in the past two weeks and I can really feel the difference it has made in my daily routine. The home office is my haven of organization. I open mail at my desk, I record and pay bills at my computer, my filing system is an arm's length away, and books are neatly maintained on two sturdy bookshelves.
My husband often complains that I spend too much time on the computer in my home office, so I decided to invest in a laptop. This way I could be with him in the living room while on my laptop at that same time. That meant I didn't really need my desk anymore because I was getting rid of the desktop computer. I sacrificed my desk for his new treadmill purchase which now takes up a large portion of the home office.
Now I find myself having to open mail in the living room in front of my laptop and paper has started accumulating in the house rather than neatly filed in my office. Of course this chaos has now created mental frustration and I can no longer function in an organized manner.
I put my foot down and said enough is enough. I am getting my desk back in that room if it kills me. Therefore, I have to redesign the room and move the bookshelves and treadmill around in order to incorporate a desk again. I have my work cut out for me this week, but it has made such a difference to my peace of mind knowing my daily routine worked for me to function and run the house smoothly.
So, If something in your house doesn't work for you anymore, stop and find another solution. If not, everything else in life seems to become chaotic as well … like the domino effect. Wish me luck as I roll up my sleeves and get going!
