Blog: Technology As An Organizing Tool
The Perfect Gift for Magazine Lovers
Do you know someone who buys or subscribes to a lot of magazines and likes to keep them around? When trying to pick out a gift for that person, maybe you think of more magazines, but you don't feel right contributing to their clutter? Have I got an idea for you!
Scanalog is a software solution designed to allow avid readers to scan and organize articles, so they can not only free up valuable storage space, but actually find articles when they want to refer to them again in the future.
The product includes 11 master categories and 102 subcategories, as well as the capability for users to create their own subcategories. The categories cover the subjects found in most popular magazines, including home decoration, gardening, home maintenance, food & wine, travel, antiques & collectibles, crafts, parenting, health & beauty, career, and "my spirit."
Also included is a set of color-coded labels corresponding to the 11 master categories. When these labels are kept close at hand while reading a magazine, the articles of interest may easily be flagged to be scanned into the system.
Since being introduced in 2000, Scanalog has received excellent reviews from many publications, including PC Magazine. You just might want a copy for yourself too!
