Recent statistics reveal that the average executive wastes 150 hours per year searching for lost documents. One in 20 documents is lost and never recovered.
Whether it is at home or at your office your desk is the hub of your daily activities. But it also becomes a dumping ground as well. Littered with all kinds of paper, mementos and personal items, it resembles chaos, not order. Here are 10 tips to help you organize your office!!
1.Everything needs a place. As you clean out your office and deal with future paperwork, consider the mantra -- everything needs a place. Remember the mnemonic "RAT" (so you won't be a Pack RAT) to each piece of paper that crosses your desk. That is, you should decide to Retain it, Act on it or Toss it....
One of the most important things to do is to get rid of clutter so that the prospective buyers can imagine themselves and their belongings in the house.
Now, head to the closets, which clutter often festers. I'm talking about extra clothes and shoes – things you rarely wear but cannot bear to be without. Do without these items for a couple of months by putting them in a box, because these items can make your closets look "crammed full." Sometimes there are shoeboxes full of "stuff" or other accumulated personal items, too. Box them up, too.
In this sluggish real estate market, home sellers need to take any advantage they can.
One of the most important things to do is to get rid of clutter so that the prospective buyers can imagine themselves and their belongings in the house.
It also creates the illusion of a more spacious home. This can help the home sell more quickly and may even bring in a higher sales price.

ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS. Turn off the TV while you're cleaning and organizing, and let your answering machine field your calls.
If a friend stops by while you're working, simply tell him/her that you've scheduled this time for spring cleaning. He or she is free to stay, as long as you could continue working. Perhaps, you might even get some help. If not, tell your friend you'll stop by his or her house later on when you're done. ...
Along with Spring comes thoughts of crisp, fresh air, newly budding flowers, singing birds and a sense of renewal. Getting organized and doing a bit of spring cleaning, helps to bring that wonderful fresh feeling into your home and office....

MY REWARD BOARD is a site that you can go on and download a 14 day trial or just purchase the system for $20. I have a 10 year old and a 7 year old. The 10 year old was not into this but my 7 year old it REALLY REALLY into it. It's basically a place where you can put down the chores, etc that your kids should do and each time they do it they get points. The person that designed this also does the Jump Start CD's.
