Managing Your Hopes and Dreams

A lot of crazy things have been happening in my life in the past 30-days and it's everything I can do to keep my head on straight let alone reevaluate priorities in my life.  Everything from putting together a new routine of when to clean the house, what patio furniture I am going to buy, and planning a vacation.  Not to mention a slew of little things in between!

Now, I like my little "Hopes and Dreams" magnetic jar that is hanging on the refrigerator, but I think I am going to need something a bit more substantial for the coming year.  As I was unpacking a ton of my "crap", I found some of my wonderful composition notebooks that I truly LOVE and I turned one into my "Hopes and Dreams Journal".

On each page I have a different title of a Hope and Dream, a date that I would like to obtain my goal, and then how I am going to get it.  For example;  I found this darling patio set at WalMart today and it would look great on my back porch.  So, I wrote down "Patio Furniture" and the price for the 3 pieces including the chaise lounger that was to-die-for-comfy.  Then I did up a quick little budget of how I am going to be able to finagle the finances to purchase it and the date of when I think I will be able to get it.  Talk about a fun little "dreaming" session!

Essentially, your "Hopes and Dreams Journal" should be filled with anything from the big whopper "Get on Oprah" goal to the down and dirty "Clean sheets every Sunday" goal.  Sometimes just writing down what you want in life makes the dream a little closer to reality.

If you have a significant other, you may even want to share it with him or her.  It may surprise you how they may be able to help, suggest, or encourage you with your Hopes and Dreams!

Happy Dreaming!
