Aesthetics and your home office

Aesthetics is a very important part of the plan to be organized. Aesthetics is the philosophy of beauty or taste. If you open any page in Real Simple magazine you see order, complimentary colors and unique materials used to keep everyday items in line. All these ways of thought and sight allow us to keep a clear vision of what we need and have to accomplish. In a home office the way to keep your life and business papers in order there needs to be a convenient system in place and have a look that invites you in. When organizing your home papers, it is very important to keep your files general. One hanging files marked "banking" should include individual files for each account. A hanging file marked "family" should include individual files marked for each member of your family including your pets. This way it will be easy to find the files you are looking for in a moments notice. Many filing systems are available for purchase to maintain your daily life. If you decide to purchase one of them take an eagle eyed look at all the categories and ask yourself if you really need all of them. As any organized person would do first make a list of all the individual categories you and your family need. Is there a filing system that fits your needs? Would you be better off just purchasing some file and hanging folders and creating your own? As I have said in several of my blogs be aware of micro categorizing or micro organizing. This creates more work that needed and can be a waste of your limited time. On top of it all if you don't have a designated spot for your "home office" create a space to keep your self and families papers in line. Many type of containers are available on line or in a local store such as target or office supply. Not everything has to be plastic, all types of fun expandable files and baskets offered to make filing more fun. Before you start your project do the research and find the right tools for you. If your not sure what to do ask a friend or your local professional organizer. Remember if the aesthetics are there you will be more apt to keep up with the task. Have fun!
