What Price Green?

Everywhere I look lately I see green.  Well, I do live in Seattle, so I guess that's a big part of it, but I'm not talking about the emerald color of our landscape – I'm talking the environmental kind.

We have a green singles club (Greendrinks) where environmentally conscious folks can meet other EC's and network for change among other things.  The green marketing niche is springing up everywhere – from green clothing designers to home products to environmentally friendly landscaping and housecleaning.

But last Monday, March 3, the nobility of the green cause was seriously questioned when fires gutted three multimillion-dollar model homes in Woodinville (on the eastside of Seattle) and authorities found a sign purportedly left by eco-terrorists that challenged the claims that the homes were green-friendly.

"Built Green? Nope black!" said the spray-painted sign that had the initials of the radical environmental group Earth Liberation Front. Top of Form
