 Salut! Schedule those Pesky Appointments
I am surrounded by sick people... and I'm not "nursey". I mean nursey in the non-medical sense of the word and fully in the "oh can i get you something" and "cater to your every need" way. Last week my son pulled a quick vomit act... wasn't prepared at all for that call from the school nurse. Today it's my husband. And the past couple of months have been chalked full of appts. for g-pa visiting the various doctors the elderly need to visit, all of which I accompany him.
Me... I'm healthy. I'm fearful of even writing that or thinking that as it may put the kabosh on my stomach and I'll be making a quick get away for the camode. I'm working from my home office instead of the office I pay for, so I can be somewhat nursey for my husband. I decided it was time to hunker down and make all those health care appointments for myself and my family.
Here's what I knocked out in about 45 minutes... this includes "please hold" time and frequent checks of email and laundry.
TIP: Keep all your doctors cards in one place!
Five appointments to keep me healthy:
- eye exam
- mammogram
- follow up appt (was feeling a bit dizzy in january)
- follow up lab work
- my annual
5 appointments to keep my family healthy:
- kids yearly appts
- dentist visit for hubby
- dentist visit for the kids
I was a bit surprised that it didn't really take all that long to knock out those calls. And I am RELIEVED to have it taken care of. I encourage you to knock out your own calls and be responsible for your bods. No one will do it for you girlfriend. Here's to your health, Salut!
