Blog: The Nature of Being Organized
Organize With Zest!
When was the last time you got absolutely silly? Is there someone in your life that can just bring it out of you? Maybe you can just call it up whenever you feel like it. Can you recall a silly, child-like moment you've had recently? Being silly is so freeing. Life really takes on a different perspective when we let go of our adult defenses and let our "inner child" take center stage.
Last Saturday I got silly! It was housecleaning/organizing day and I decided to approach it with different energy. I have a tendency to be intense when I get into cleaning projects, especially if I'm alone. But not last week! I put on "The Best of the Temptations" CD and danced my way through the house. Now admittedly it took a little longer to finish the job because I kept stopping to sing with the vacuum cleaner and dance with the duster! As I danced around I was transported back in time to my college days in the 70's. I was in the dorm with the girls learning the Temptations Walk—a line dance that was so cool. Although the job took longer the time flew by very quickly and at the end I felt like I had just come from a playground instead of a prison.
When we're living from our true essence we are naturally lighter and freer. The burdens of life have been lifted, at least momentarily, and we can become one with our Spirits. A great book to help us bring out our "inner silly" is "A Big New Free Happy Unusual Life—Self Expression and Spiritual Practice For Those Who Have Time For Neither" by Nina Wise. The book is a wonderful resource of spirit-filled activities to reacquaint ourselves with our playful, curious child.
Organize with zest and find good duster to "boogie down" with this week!
Happy Organizing!
Warmest Regards,
Maggie
