Blog: Easy Feng Shui and Organizing
"The more I let go of the old & stagnant, the more I attract new blessings"
If you don't feel grounded in your environment but don't know why, I invite you to get curious about it – in a gentle way. Begin to think of an organized environment not as a "should", but as a wonderful foundation for the life you are creating and the person you are becoming.
Feng Shui and organizing are intimately inter-related. At this intersection lie some very powerful tools for personal growth, such as:
- De-cluttering creates a vacuum into which new blessings can flow
- Getting organized frees up a tremendous amount of life energy, (also called "chi"), to focus on what really matters
- Your inner life begins a rich, fertile conversation with your outer environment
A palpable sense of momentum is created when you release those belongings which represent who you used to be, rather than who you are -- and who you are on your way to becoming. You'll begin to feel a delicious sense of being organically inspired to move forward on projects and intentions that have been idling on the back burner. And here is where the fun really starts!
My dear friend Holly describes the process like this. Whenever she's feeling out of sorts or overwhelmed in her life, she goes home and "puts her hands on things" in her home. With each intentional move, she feels herself relaxing, unwinding. Small pockets of order are created. New ideas pop into her head. Her restlessness settles out into an easy feeling of groundedness.
Now that's 'good feng shui'!
Next time, we'll talk about the empowering concept of "active chaos" versus "stagnant chaos".
