How Do I Get Help for Organizing Papers at Home?
If you want to get organized but you're not really sure how to begin, here are some options to consider:
-
Educate yourself about organizing through online references, videos, or books. This website www.OnlineOrganizing.com has lots of resources for you. My favorite book is Julie Morgenstern's book Organizing from the Inside Out.
-
If you feel you have the basic knowledge but still have challenges applying the techniques to your home, take an organizing course which is "project-based" and allows you to use your own home as the project. If you live in the Washington DC area, I teach a course called Design Your Space & Organize Your Home where each individual has a class project to organize one room of their home. Click HERE for course details. The next course is June 3, 2008.
- If you want more personal attention, consider hiring a Professional Organizer. A Professional Organizer will come to your home, provide organizing advice and often will help with hands-on organizing (sorting, purging, assigning homes). Click HERE for the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) website which allows you to find an organizer nationwide.
