MAY All Your Dreams Come True
How are you doing so far with your dreams and goals for 2008? If you remember back to the beginning of the year we talked about "Making '08 Great".
The thing about dreams is we can't just wish certain things to happen; we have to plan and prepare. It's important that we look at our dreams and make them into S.M.A.R.T. Goals in order for them to become a reality.
If we just keep wishing and dreaming our lives will change, we are not being honest with ourselves nor are we being realistic. Pretty soon one year runs into another, and then another, and another.
The 29th of this month marked the 150th day of 2008. We are almost half way through the year. One more month of the first half and then we'll be sliding down the back side of '08.
So dust off those goals you had for the year. Hopefully, you wrote them down and made them S.M.A.R.T. goals. You remember-Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Relevant, and Timely. Call a Board Meeting with the Chairperson.
Who's the Chairperson? You are.
Come prepared to the meeting. The chairperson is going to hold you accountable. So far 150 days (and nights) have flown by and what do you have to show for them? Are there some goals you fulfilled and fast? Are there other ones that you are questioning why you wrote them? Perhaps they need a little revising, fine-tuning, or renegotiating their timelines of completion.
Look ahead to the third quarter of the year. Will you be able to hold the course? Do you gear up Big Time in the summer months and really accomplish a lot or is this when you are thinking, "I need to re-juvenate, re-create, or just re-lax?"
We all seem to have different tempos for each 24 hour period. Some of us are early birds while others are night owls. And some of us are trying to figure out just who we are and when we are most productive.
What if our years were like our days? Maybe some of us get a lot done early on in the year, while others of us have a big finish to the year, but trouble getting it going in the beginning.
Let me know what time of year is your most productive. Write me at on how you've done with the first 150 days of '08.
Whatever your tempo is, MAY you find the beat to your own drum, and MAY all your dreams come true (whatever they may be).
Until next time...
