 Cash for Toys
Summer is the perfect time to help your kids weed through their toys because they're busy playing outdoors and not as attached to their indoor toys.
Incent your kids by telling them they can host a garage sale and keep part or all of the proceeds from the sale of toys. You might also encourage them to donate toys or cash to a local shelter. I did this for several years in a row and I was always amazed at the toys my kids were willing to part with. They knew when they'd outgrown them or were bored with an item.
Have your kids clean up the toys and help them price them. As the sale date gets closer, your child may change his/her mind on an item or two. That's okay. As long as it isn't the majority of toys with prices on them!
Note: I was always shocked that it was the Happy Meal Toys from fast food restaurants that sold the fastest at garage sales!
