Creative Family Systems

Do you ever run across a new blog you love?

Sometime, when I have nothing to do (which lately seems like never), I like to check out new blogs. About six months ago, I found Laurie over at Tip Junkie and I just love her blog. She has such a variety of topics, all realting to making life easier.

I saw one of her post on Creative Homemakers recently and I just loved the ideas she shared. Systems for the home can be so overwhelming for some families. With kids, parents, and schedules there is so much to manage and yet you have to make it appealing for everyone.

At our house, we have a pretty basic system. My kids are small so their level of involvement really stays to a minimum, however they do take an active role in managing the house. We have a fridge calendar to keep our schedules all in one place. All paperwork and mail and is processed and stored in a counter top organizer in the kitchen (about 4 feet from the calendar). And finally I have a bulletin board in a kitchen cabinet that posts miscellaneous important information, messages, prescriptions, passes, receipts etc.

In my opinion, you have to do what works for you. It has to make sense to you and it has to be easy for everyone to know how to find information, and/or post information. What system works in your household?
