Reduce Cord Clutter
There are hundreds of products to organize your cords and cables. Though everyone is using "wireless" technology, look under your desk -- the cords are still there!!
Cord control can be broken down into three components:
- Power Strips/Surge Protectors
- Cord Safety and Appearance
- Cord Identification
Power Strips/Surge Protectors
Reduce cord clutter on the floor:
- Use a charging valet which rests on a desk or table top. Valets contain a hidden power strip and compartments to hold and recharge your small electronic device
-
Rolodex has organizer, printer, laptop and monitor stands which house mini power strips, allowing you plug in a lamp, music, printer, etc. to the back of the stand
If the adapters are too large and you need to use all the surge protector outlets, use power strip adapters or extenders (1 foot mini extension cord) which allow the use of all the sockets
Purchase a surge protector by Belkin that has outlets spaced wider apart for large chargers and comes with a snap cover, or buy a plastic cover for a traditional power strip which provides safety protection and is more visually appealing
Next week we'll look at ....Cord Safety and Appearance & Cord Identification
