 Ideas for expanding your closet space in your small space
I recently came across this studio renovation on Oprah.com and thought I would share a glimpse of it for inspiration. The thing that attracted my professional organizer's eye in this less than 300 square foot apartment decorated by Nate Berkus was the amount of closet space provided. By installing built-in closets along both side walls and using drapes to make it all disappear, this apartment has more closet space than many larger homes. You could make this work with the Elfa closet system from the Container store as well.
Ikea's Hopen/Komplement line of wardrobes are also a great option for expanding your closet space at a little less than 2 feet deep. Lined along one wall of a bedroom or an entire studio apartment, these wardrobes would allow you customize your space without any permanent installation.
So, if you feel like you've got nowhere left to hang your clothes, consider one of these simple solutions for creating new closets in your small space.
