WHERE HAS ALL MY TIME GONE?
Where has all the time gone? This common lament comes from busy households all over our land. Perhaps you're saying it to yourself right now as you read this blog.
Like it or not, time is an equal opportunity employer. We all have the same amount of time each day. In theory, at least, how we use it is up to us. Too often we get caught up in our daily routines and find little time left over for those activities that seen to refresh and renew us.
When was the last time you kept the television off all evening? Television can rob you of those free hours you could use to pursue a hobby, create something, or just read a novel. If you trim off one hour of television viewing each day, you could save 365 hours a year! Do you realize that is enough time to complete, at least, three college courses or earn enough at minimum wage to pay for them, start a new business from a corner of your home, learn a foreign language, refinish a roomful of furniture, landscape your yard, do all those craft projects you've been meaning to get around to, become active in a club, take up a sport, or learn to paint artwork.
Don't over exaggerate what it takes to do a project. Have you dreamt of the day you'd have time to do needlework? But then, you'd have to find your threads, directions, canvas, the perfect spot to work, and at least two free hours to stitch. That day, of course, never seems to arrive. There are probably many other projects, too, waiting for the "proper amount of time" to complete them.
Remember, if you break large projects into small parts you can actually finish them by the "divide and conquer" method. So, the next time you're on the phone catching up with a friend grab your needlework project and stitch a bit while you chat!
