FREE MONEY for your holiday shopping!
OK, so I must tell my son six times a week that money doesn't grow on trees. The flip side of this is that I also tell my clients six times a week that money DOES grow in your home.
I am serious about this, people—you have DOUGH in your house (and not just in the kitchen). I rarely clear out a client's home office or kitchen "junk drawer" without finding some undeposited checks, cash, or loose change.
Most recently, I helped a long-standing client empty out her storage facility (instantly saving her $185/month in the process: NO MORE storage fees!). As we pored through the bankers boxes from 1985 and later, we came across $64 in cash as well as 6 old checks totaling a little over $1,800! We proceeded to call the banks and institutions from where these checks came to see if any of them could be reinstated. Some were, some were not. Still, she was richer today than yesterday and she more than paid for our session together.
Last month I worked with a client to clear up the clutter that covered her living room and dining room floors, and in the process we came across enough loose change to pay for a plane ticket out to visit her sister in New York. She was ecstatic!
So lift up those sofa cushions and dig through those old files. You are bound to find money that will help you with your holiday shopping! If you do find some, write in and let me know how much. I'd love to keep a running tally (I'm all about charts and lists).
