Organizing a gift wrapping party
Holiday gift wrapping is quickly approaching... are you ready?
Do you wrap them as you buy them or do you sock them away and spend an entire evening (or two) wrapping all your treasures?
Either way, it can be a huge task getting all the gifts wrapped and ready for your special day.
I was reading in Real Simple magazine (shocker right...) about how to organize a gift wrapping party... what a great idea. The article included everything from the shopping list, food to serve, wrapping supplies, who to invite, creating a game plan, time table on when to prepare, all the way to the day of the events check list!
As much as I love the idea of a gift wrapping party, it seemed to me that it was more work to plan the event then to just sit down and wrap my gifts. Like any creative event, I love to share that work time with friends. The idea of a wrapping party sounds really good... but here is how I would do it:
1. Pick a date to send hubby with kids out of the house.
2. Invite my friends over for the event and note to bring a snack to share and their own paper to wrap gifts (I will supply all the tape).
3. Check all my supplies, tables, chairs and scissors (and perhaps a festive cocktail).
4. Clean the toilets on the day of the event (I have small boys, what can I say).
5. Clear the table and make brownies and turn on the holiday tunes.
6. Welcome friends... let's get wrapping!
It really can be that easy! Don't over complicate things!
How do you like to wrap your gifts?
