Organizing Photos
Preserving and keeping your memorabilia safe from the elements can be a daunting task. Sometimes almost even a pain. I read a great blog post from my good friend Ariane, of Neat and Simple, the other day that I wanted to share with you... she covered quite a few ways to preserve and keep your photos and memorabilia safe.
Putting your items into proper storage is important, however, don't forget to create a sorting system before you just stick your items into a box. Deciding what is your best sorting method really depends on how you refer to the materials in question... HINT... this is the same method of thinking when you sort your photos...
1. SORT BY DATE
Sorting by date can mean having a specific box in chronological order.
2. SORT BY PERSON
Each person in your household (or family) can have their own box to make sorting and reference easier.
3. SORT BY ERA
My mom likes to sort this way... she sorts by era, aka decade. It can get difficult to sort when you have items that are much older than you. It's hard to pinpoint the exact time, but by era can make sorting easier.
Once you decide how to sort... then you can find the proper storage items! Thanks Ariane - great post!
