What is Your Driver? Write it Down
Whenever I start an organizing project with a new client, I always ask them to write down their goal, driver, or payoff for getting organized. "I want to get organized" is not specific enough. What's the real goal behind wanting to get organized? Is it:
What's the payoff? You'll want to use this as motivation and inspiration as you invest your time to get organized. If you feel your commitment starting to wane, revisit your goal or driver. Remember the real reason why you're getting your office organized.
And two goal setting tips….1) Write it down. It will become more concrete. Get it out of your head and make it real. 2) Be as specific as possible. How much more money do you want to make? Even give yourself a time limit (by the end of 1st quarter).
