What's up with Martha and the armoire?
Did you ever notice that Martha Stewart has a love (or a bit of an obsession) for armories?
It's crazy, but for as long as I have been watching, reading and following this gal, I never noticed it before until last week.
We took a roadtrip last week for spring break and I packed the car loaded with all my recent magazine issues. I couldn't wait for the long highway miles with the DH driving, kids napping in the back and me, reading my magazines! *sigh* It was a great vacation!!!!
Any who... so I was reading the recent Living, and "BAHM!!"...
There it was again... the storage solution recommendation... the Armoire.
I think, in my lifetime, I have seen her showcase an armoire for storing garden tools, gift wrapping station, ourdoor dishes, indoor dishes, a workstation, linens and laundry materials... and that is what I can remember. I am sure she has showcased many more.... WHAT'S THE DEAL? In some ways, this irritates me a bit and I will tell you why...
1. Have you ever seen just HOW MUCH AN ARMOIRE costs? A lot!
2. Do you know just HOW BIG they really are? Huge!
3. Who has the SPACE in their home to store all the various armoires for the various items? Not me and even if I did, I don't know as I would want them!
Personally, I consider an armoire to be a "luxury" type item that isn't a common piece in the average home. I often wonder if she has just that many armoires in her house showcasing all the various items? In my opinion, it's time for Martha to move on... what do you think?
