How to Organize Your Laptop Related Stuff

Whenever you get a new laptop or computer, it always comes with a bunch of extra "stuff." You'll get extra disks (some you have no idea what they do), instruction books, extra cords, warranty information, etc.  There is no one globally recognized storage solution for this stuff.  I've seen people store it every which way:
  • In a file folder in a hanging file
  • In a zip lock bag
  • In a shoe box
  • In the original laptop box
  • All over their desk (the stuff has no home)
Some of the solutions above are better than others.  This laptop related stuff is difficult to store because it is not just papers and not just objects; it's a combination of both.  There is a new product on the market which does the trick of storing these difficult types of item:  the Hanging Project Case.
The Hanging Project Case is a small thin plastic container which is designed to hang in a file cabinet or file box.  I bought a set and it holds my tablet PC extra stuff very nicely.  It's developed by Innovative Storage Designs and is being sold in Staples store locations.
If you're looking to organize the digitable files on your laptop, check out my new post Organize Electronic Files on Your Laptop.

Barry, thanks for the questions. I post new blogs every Monday, so my topic for next week will be on establishing an electronic filing system, which will answer your questions. Please check back on Monday!
