Say "No!" to Your Inner Critic
When I published my first book back in 2004, the term "inner critic" hadn't been coined yet. But, I don't about you, but I've been fighting the inner critic for years! She's not my friend, nor a cheerleader...but a tough woman who doesn't like me so much. After ignoring her, telling her to go away, and replacing her with thoughtful, positive messages, I don't hate her anymore, but I don't allow her to get into my conscious psyche and interrupt my future plans.
After talking with lots and lots of women about organization, I suspect I've been talking with their inner critic, not the real person. Why? Because there's a tremendous amount of negative self talk that keeps them from reaching their goal. Good intentions get squashed, procrastination sets in, guilt for not accomplishing what they set out to do, and more.
You have permission to rid yourself of those thoughts. Your journey of releasing guilt and embracing positive thinking begins now. Guilt is simply a time waster, dream stealer, and totally unproductive. We've all done and said things that had we known better, we would have done better...so let it go and move on.
