The Lighter Side of Paper Purging
Taking care of the paper that comes into our lives can become our greatest nemesis. One thin sheet of paper swiftly gathers forces and literally takes over our space before our very eyes leaving us scratching our heads wondering how it happened so fast. This week I want to take a look at the lighter side of paper management and share with you a contribution from one of the members of the A New View community.
Here's Claire's "Top Ten Signs That It's Been WAY Too Long Since You've Purged Your Files":
You find:
1. A referral to a doctor who died ten years ago.
2. Proof of jury duty served since 1991.
3. A coupon for scuba diving lessons that expired in 2004.
4. A USA guide book of youth hostiles from 1994—reminding you that your youth has also expired!
5. A Xeroxed article about computers with a post-it note on which is written, "This may interest you when you get a computer"--instructions on how to use a floppy disk.
6. A brochure from 1990: "Your Rights and Responsibilities as a NY State Telephone Customer".
7. A letter from a credit card company explaining that they had cancelled your account due to inactivity for two years.
8. Your first driver's license and learner's permit.
9. Xerox copies of applications to professional organizations that you don't even belong to anymore.
10. A bank statement from a bank no longer in business.
Can you top any of these? Let us know. Send me your contributions, I'd love to read and share them. Don't forget to laugh this week!
Thank you Claire!
Love To You,
Maggie
