SENDING GREETING CARDS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS THE ORGANIZED WAY
We all have good intentions, donft we? We want to make sure we send out greeting cards to family and friends for their birthdays, anniversaries, etc. However, life gets in the way. We remember one day and forget the next and before we know it, that special occasion just passes us by. As a result, we might find ourselves sending out a lot of belated wishes.
There is a solution. By creating an organized system for sending out those cards, you will never be late again.
One way to resolve this problem is to use a yearly calendar, whether paper or electronic, and put in all the birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions on an annual basis. Ifm a bit old fashions and still use the paper method. Once I transfer the birthdays and anniversaries from the old calendar to the new one, I look at my calendar on a monthly basis to purchase the greeting cards for that month. Then I sign them and address them and send them out about a week ahead of time.
Another solution is to use an index box system. Set up a standard box that holds 3x5 cards and index tabs for each month of the year. On each index card, I put the name, address, phone number and email address of each recipient. In the right hand corner of the card at the top, I put the date of the occasion. I put each card in chronological order within the particular month and pull them out one month at a time to purchase and address my cards. This avoids the need to re-write the information year after year. Just be sure to keep the addresses and other information updated. Use one card for each person for the birthdays. Use one card for each couple for anniversaries.
Finally, you can send out e-cards. Electronic cards are becoming very popular because they are entertaining and can be free. I use www.123greetings.com but there are other free sites where you can set up an account. This system allows you to schedule when you want the card to be sent. You can put them all in at the same time and forget about it. Itfs done.
If you take some time to develop one of these systems, you will find that you will never miss a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion again. Now thatfs being organized!
