Homeless Office Items
There are many technical reasons for disorganization, but one of the top reasons is that the item has no "home" in your office. The "home" is the location where you put the item when you are not using it. It is where the item lives.
Every item needs one consistent home, so that when you are done using it you know exactly where to put it, and when you need it again you know exactly where to find it. Many people have perfected this principle by having one single location where they put their car keys. Use the same approach for your important papers, calendar, smart phone, and receipts.
Being organized is about finding what you want, when you need it. Putting this practice into place in your office will help you become more organized.
