 Work-Life Balance? No way.
The term "work-life balance" has become as common as drive thru fast food and in my opinion it's about as good for you. As far as I can see all it does is make us feel bad. It's unrealistic and unachievable and seriously - do you really want your work life and personal life to be in perfect balance? Doesn't that mean you'd be spending the same time at work as you have free time?
The concept of work-life balance just sets us up to feel inadequate. What you can attain and what will give you way more joy is work-life synchronicity. That's when all aspects of your life flow harmoniously. It's how you minimize stress; stay healthy, energized and motivated. You want to aim for smoothly transitioning yourself from personal life to work life and back.
The process of creating a really high quality life and a big vision for yourself is to keep this big picture perspective of work-life synchronicity in mind. Decide what's really important to you and then simplify, organize and unclutter your priorities, time and space around them. It's what you eliminate, not what you add that ignites your energy.
