Is Organizing Magic or Magical?

I sometimes joke with my clients that organizing is not magic, and unfortunately I do not have a magic wand.  95% of my hands-on organizing projects are done side-by-side with the person who uses that space.  During the project, they experience that organizing is a little elbow-grease and a lot of decisions.  However, at the end of an organizing session, it can feel magical.  It is job satisfaction to the extreme, to see clients so happy with the results.

I believe Linda Samuals, CPO-CD puts it very well in her book The Other Side of Organized.  She states, "similar to magic, organizing involves transformation.  It is during the organizing process that amazing results are accomplished.  While I don't possess a magic wand, it is wonderful when clients experience a magical feeling."

I was honored this week to participate in two clients' organizing journeys - both of which reached major milestones, and it felt magical!
