Top 7 Reasons for Having a To-Do List

I support writing down, or typing up, the things you need to do. At work this list is called "Action Items" because it is a list of actions that need to occur. At home it is more commonly referred to as a "To-Do List."

Here are my Top 7 reasons for having a To-Do or Action Item List:

You'll know what you have to do
You can cross things off when you're done (this feels really good)
You get a sense of your entire universe of things to do
Seeing the whole to-do list, you'll feel more comfortable delegating items
Seeing the whole to-do list, you'll feel more comfortable saying "no" to new things if you're currently over-loaded
It gets your to-do's out of your head so your brain-power can focus on more important items
It becomes a tool to help you plan your day or plan your week…it can even help you plan your life
