Blog: An Organization Diet -- Lose the clutter and drop the weight
Family vacations and dieting!
Turquoise waters, warm breezes, palm trees and warm sunshine. Autumn in New England? No. As you are reading this I am probably sitting on the lido deck by the pool aboard our Disney cruise ship family vacation (no doubt, buried in a good book and hiding under a big bathing suit cover-up!)
I'm out to prove this week that one can actually maintain…or even lose weight while cruising! If my organizing-diet theory of clean, open spaces and relaxing schedules having a direct impact on our eating habits, then why do people gain weight so often on vacation?
Well, it obviously means having to resist that second pina colada, not attending the midnight buffets, and getting up early to work out in the ship's gym (hey, it's gotta be easier than getting up at home and driving 20 minutes to my gym!). But I will be taking notes and trying my best to stay on track.
Tune in to next week's blog post as I share my cruise-diet results! Let's have some fun. I'd love to hear from you. Chime in and let me know if you think I will lose weight, gain weight or maintain while I'm away! Then we'll begin our holiday organizing diet countdown (I've been teaching holiday organizing workshops for years)…taking the stress out of holiday planning, holiday entertaining and pre-holiday dieting! Together we can do this!
Your assignment this week, while I'm away: make a list of all those pre-holiday tasks you know you are going to have to face. Remember you cannot implement them if you don't have a master list of things to do. Don't worry, we'll tackle them together, step by step. In the meantime, you might also consider ordering my new SIMPLE STEPS lifestyle makeover wall calendar for 2008, so you'll have it in plenty of time to input new year goals, dieting steps and more of my all new organizing diet program, come January! (It's on sale now at www.onlineorganizing.com)
Well, it's time to put on more sunscreen. Gotta go. Talk to you when I return home next week!
