Achieve Your Organizing Goals with Online Accountability
To set a goal it should be SMART (specific, measureable, attainable, realistic and timely). To achieve the goal it helps to have accountability. That's one reason why people work with Professional Organizers; we hold people accountable for their organizing goals.
The online website stickK.com (pronounced "stick") believes in the philosophy that people who put stakes (money or reputation) on the table are far more likely to actually achieve a goal they set for themselves. The stickK.com website supports goal achievement and establishing incentives. Here are the four steps:
-
Set the goal (e.g., organize my closet) and time frame
-
Do you want to put money on the line, and if so, where should the money go? (This often works best as a reverse incentive…if I don't meet my goal, I will pay a charity organization that I really don't like)
-
Select a referee. The referee will monitor your progress and confirm the truths of your progress reports (this is where a Professional Organizer can play a role by reviewing photos of your organizing project)
-
Select supporters. Choose if you want to have any friends or family cheering you on by posting encouraging messages
This can be a powerful tool to achieve your organizing goals!
