Blog: Use Your Space & Conquer Office Workflow
Google Calendar
Wow, I had to step away from my blog for a few weeks because of a full-time travel schedule on an organizing project, and I feel like I've been gone a century. We're breaking over Memorial Day weekend and then we have a few more weeks to go. During this travel time, I've been using a time management tool: Google Calendar. It has been the perfect tool to establish and communicate my active kids' schedules with my, now chauffeuring, husband. Here are my benefits of Google Calendar:
-
Access and update it wherever you have internet access
-
Share the calendar with whomever you would like (view-only or edit capability)
-
Color-code your activities (each kid has a separate color and joint-kid activities also have a unique color)
-
Visually view the weekly calendar like a Time Map
-
It's FREE, no software to buy. It's hosted by Google in the clouds
My one area for improvement for Google Calendar would be to include the end time of the activities on the month view (if anyone knows how to do this, let me know). Here are some other features of Google calendar that I have not yet used, but are worth a shout-out:
-
Syncs with calendar on iPhone
-
Search Calendar using Google tools
-
Get text message reminders via your iPhone
-
Set up an event & invitation service, like Evite.com
-
Set-up separate calendars and give specific-people, specific access, but you can personally still view all the calendars as one consolidated calendar
I'd love to hear about your experiences with Google Calendar!
