1 Hour of Pre-Organizing Reflection – Big Difference
When I work with clients on office organizing projects, we spend 1 amazing hour reflecting on how to organize the room, and it makes a big difference in the success of re-organizing the space and clients maintaining the space.
Often it has been a while since my clients have thought about what are the goals and priorities for the work to be accomplished in their offices. Businesses often evolve and people's job responsibilities change over time.
When I work with a client we want the information, supplies and documents that they use most often to be within arm's length. Think of a "command center" with items easily available. We identify what are the main activities to be done in the office on a daily basis, what are the supplies and document needed to complete these activities and lastly what storage units are needed to hold the supplies and documents. Through this process, adapted from Julie Morgenstern's book Organizing from the Inside Out, you identify the critical organizing systems needed for office success. It also gives you a vision for the office which will be a guide as you begin the hands-on organizing of sorting and purging in your office.
