Overcoming Scrapbook Obstacles: Photos

Are you scrapbooking as much as you'd like to? If you wish you were scrapbooking more than you do, you're probably faced with a scrapbooking obstacle (or two or three.)  An obstacle is anything that makes scrapbooking seem (or actually be) harder than it needs to be. Obstacles create unhappy scrapbookers. A key to being a happy scrapper is to find simple solutions that make it easier and more fun to scrapbook.

I mentioned in an earlier post that one of my biggest obstacles for scrapbooking is photos! While going digital solved one of my scrapbooking obstacles (a feeling of overwhelm caused by too many un-scrapbooked photos!) it created another. When I was super inspired to scrapbook, there was the delay of getting photos printed. And while there are many terrific, local places where I can get photos developed, typically in little over an hour, in the big scheme of things, an hour is a hefty chunk of scrapbook time. Sometimes all I have in a day is an hour to scrapbook…spending it waiting for a photo to get printed is not so fun. (Maybe you can relate?)

For me, a key to being a happy scrapper and scrapbooking more is to remove as many obstacles as possible. Waiting an hour (and sometimes even more!) to get my photos printed has been a big obstacle for me. So…meet my new friend.

This little beauty is an amazing machine. The quality of the photos is incredible…and it fits nicely in my office / scrapbook studio. (Which can be a really important consideration, don't you think? Technology is great…but when it doesn't over power the look of a space, it's even better.)

One of the other features I love about the Epson RX595 is the built-in scanner. One less piece of technology in my space, plus, a scanner is such a great tool for scrapbookers…from scanning old photos to making reduced copies of kid's art projects. (How fun to include a miniature artwork scans as embellishments on your scrapbook pages? I can't wait to do this!)

But the very best thing of all is that when scrapbook inspiration hits, a photo is just a few minutes away…instead of an hour, plus a drive to the store. How great is that?

So…if you're not scrapbooking as much as you'd like, and a lack of printed photos is your obstacle, consider adding a photo printer to your holiday wish list. It will help you scrapbook more…and I can't think of a better gift than that.
