Fit Scrapbooking into Your Jam-Packed Holiday Schedule

If you love to scrapbook…finding time to do it is always a top priority. But, with the holidays, and all the extra to-do's that come along with them, scrapbooking can easily go by the way side. With a few organizing (and simplifying!) strategies, coupled with simplified approach to scrapbooking, you can have your (holiday fruit) cake and scrapbook, too. (You thought I was going to say "eat it, too," didn't you? I know you did. But does anyone actually eat fruit cake?)
I digress—back to simplifying for the sake of scrapbooking during the holidays. Here are some ideas:
Scrapbook with friends. The holidays are a great time to get together with friends. Why not have a get together with your all your scrapbooking buddies that you haven't seen in a while. Keep it simple. Pick a night, email your pals, and have everyone bring a snack to share. You'll enjoy an evening of holiday togetherness, plus carve out some time for scrapbooking, too.
Simplify meal prep. During the holidays it's as important as ever to eat well. One of my very favorite tools to make dinner in a snap is to load up my Crock-Pot® in the morning. Then, during that time when you'd normally be rushing around getting dinner on the table, sit back, relax and spend a few minutes scrapbooking.
Avoid last minute errands. When you're out holiday shopping, stock up on basic, regularly used products like shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper— essentially anything you'd make a special trip to the store to get as soon as you run out. By avoiding last minute errands (and the traffic at the stores this time of year) you'll free up a bit of time to scrapbook. (How great is that…fewer crowds and more scrapbooking!)
Simplify your approach to scrapbooking. Instead of going cold turkey and not scrapbooking at all during the holidays, try on a simpler approach than may be your norm. Give scraplifting a try. Pick up one of your favorite scrapbook idea books or magazines and then follow a simple, easy to implement design. Or check Marnie's blog  for really beautiful and simple scrapbook pages. (I love this blog! So many great layout ideas!) This is one of my very favorites,  and then there's this one:  simple and stunning. I love that!
With a little bit of simplifying…you can have holidays and scrapbook, too!
