Organize your goals to increase revenue
In business, goal setting is like losing weight, you know you need to do it and you'll feel better but the process is tedious. To set realistic goals, you need your vision in mind and complete comfort with your core values and what you do well. Expect this to take time. Also, expect the payoff to be tremendous. Most of the time, I feel overwhelmed with the task of writing business goals. Here is a suggestion of how to proceed:
1) Document your thoughts with no specific guidelines, be creative
2) Sort your thoughts into like groups
3) Turn the more important thoughts into goals
4) Divide the goals between short-term and long-term. Focus on your short-term goals, those which you can accomplish over the next year to three years. Long-term goals can be addressed later
5) Formalize your goals through documentation
6) Sharing the document with appropriate people and begin implementing
7) Manage your goals
As laid out by the Kauffman Foundation, FastTrac GrowthVenture Entrepreneur manual, copyright 2006, "goals should be SMART:
Specific – Clearly defined by those who have the knowledge about their impact
Measurable – Quantifiably defined in such a way as to gauge progress
Achievable – Challenging and rewarding, but still within reach
Relevant – Tied to current critical tasks and abilities of the team
Time-based – linked to an agreed-upon timeline"
Use your goals as the foundation for your business strategy, www.fasttrac.org.

About Tracie:
I am a Professional Organizer that focuses on financial information although I organize homes as well. Prior to organizing, I worked as a CPA for public and private companies as an auditor, controller, project manager and more. Now, I organize full-time with a focus on office organizing (both home and corporate), managing paperwork, managing Quicken/Quick Books and banking. I help people understand what type of paperwork/computer files to keep, how long to keep it and how to store it.

There is a section "For the Public" that has information related to starting a business. There's also a calendar which indicates when certain financial information is due, such as, taxes.
