Yes, I Am Guilty TOO!
Well it's that time of year when you start holiday shopping and need to find hiding places in your closets for secret gifts. So I jumped up this morning full of energy and decided to clean out the bottom of my closet to make space for anticipated packages and holiday goodies.
To my surprise, I pulled out over 20 bags of all shapes and sizes (purses, travel bags, luggage, computer bags, etc) that I haven't used in over a year! I figured I better practice what I preach ... I piled them into garbage bags and threw them in my car to drop off at a local charity spot. That was an instant transformation of WOW - MORE CLOSET SPACE!!
I realized that most of the bags came from conferences I had attended, free giveaways that we just can't say NO to, old gifts that I never found a chance to use because I had too many to choose from, or travel bags that I bought for various excursions and had served their purpose.
My husband even complained that the back of his closet had a few more of my bags that were stacked neatly inside each other (since I am organized you know). Now when he comes home tonight he will be able to fill the empty space with all his golf equipment scattered here and there (but who's complaining).
So there you have it, yes I am guilty too! However, your challenge is to join me and pull your bags out of the closets, keep a few good ones, and donate the others. If some of them are still brand new, why don't you save money and just re-gift them for the holidays?? HAPPY CLEANING!
