Blog: Paper Organizing Made Easy
Have Paper, Will Travel
Tis the season to travel and see loved ones. Whether it's near or far, travelling for the holidays is a tradition. It's vitally important to keep everything you need together and easy to access - you do want to actually enjoy the trip! One small thing can help you do this. A small check sized envelope (plastic, paper or otherwise) is small enough to tuck into a handbag, briefcase or coat pocket. Keep it filled with your important documents and information, and keep it close at hand at all times.
If you are travelling by air, most times you will have e-ticket. (Honestly, how amazing is that? You didn't used to be able to board a plane without a ticket, and now there are no paper tickets necessary!) Even with an e-ticket, it's best to keep your confirmation number with you which is located on your itinerary or receipt from your travel agent or airline. You will also need to keep track of your boarding pass and luggage claim tickets. Put all of this information as well as any other travel related documents in one place in your carry-on baggage or handbag.
If you are travelling by car, you'll have maps, address and possibly directions. It's also a good idea to keep a copy of any phone numbers needed for your destination, hotel and family or friends. Keep all of these documents in your envelope. When you need the information, it will all be together and waiting for you.
Travelling during the holidays is stressful enough with things to carry, family to corral, crowds to navigate and weather delays. By keeping your travel documents together, its one less thing you need to worry about. So, take a few minutes, gather it together and put it where you will can find it. Then, kick back and enjoy the journey and the holidays.
