Hypothesis: The New England Patriots are ultra-organized
This week, our foundation was buttoned up. It was backfilled, the dirt nicely graded. The lot is looking much better. It's been hard to be the people that caused all the digging, blasting, ripping and tearing at our beloved lot. Now as powder snow relentlessly falls on all that has been done, we're taking a hiatus until the weather clears, which is not expected until next week. Snow is part of the charm of New Hampshire. And, being from New Hampshire, it's natural to spend my free time in contemplation of the New England Patriots.
The Pats have seen much success since 2001, the year they won their first Superbowl. They've won two more Superbowls since then, and have made the playoffs every year except 2002. Some call the 2007 Patriots the best football team ever seen. At this writing, they have yet to lose (and I predict they won't.) I have never been invited to analyze their operation, but their success tells me that the New England Patriots are ultra-organized.
To be victorious in football, the players and coaches must be prepared for any contingency that can happen on the field. Each team plays their own offensive and defensive conventions and has their own tendencies when faced with game situations. Opposing teams study miles and miles of game video to understand what's typical for a team and the strength and weaknesses of its players. Therefore, a successful team has to have a film categorizing system as foolproof as the Library of Congress'. They must have a process for reviewing reams of new tape each week and, what's more, the ability to find the segments most important for their players to review before the game. Great game tape organization is a prerequisite for the coaches who mastermind the game plans and teach the team how to win.
A great categorizing system, superlative processes for dealing with lots of information, a place for everything and the ability to find exactly what's needed when it's needed. The New England Patriots are ultra-organized, indeed.
I guess I can stop dreaming of becoming the official Professional Organizer of the New England Patriots.
Go Pats!
