Don't junk the Junk Drawer!
When I deliver seminars my audiences are always a little surprised by my junk drawer philosophy. I think every person of the household needs their own personal junk drawer. That's right. Every person.
Why? Because we can't be neat and tidy all the time and sometimes we just need some place to put our "stuff" until we have the time to deal with it. Sort of sounds like I'm promoting procrastination, huh? Maybe. But think about it.
You're busy with life…kids, job, house, sports, church, and family. You may not have the time right now to deal with the "stuff" sitting on the kitchen counter, your bedroom dresser or your desk. It's okay to tuck it away until later.
But that "later" part is really important. When the junk drawer can't open or shut anymore because of so much stuff, then you know it's time to spend a little quality time and do some major bonding with that junk drawer of yours. Make sure you've got a garbage can close by because chances are you saved some items that can now be tossed.
A junk drawer allows me to relax. To be real. I may be a Certified Professional Organizer®, but God knows, I'm just like everyone else when it comes to handling my "stuff"!
Happy with my junk drawer,
A.k.a. Organized Audrey
