 Get Organized in 2008 with Google Calendar
Didn't get the calendar you were hoping for as a Christmas gift? No worries – maybe it's time for you to go electronic!
Google offers one of the many calendars available that allow you to keep track of your personal and professional activities online. If you're wondering why you would do this rather than use a paper calendar, consider the following benefits:
- If an appointment changes, you can simply edit the details rather than erasing or scratching it out and rewriting it on the new date
- Recurring events only need to be entered once
- Share your calendar with your clients, family, friends, and/or your virtual assistant (you can keep separate calendars for different purposes)

What's special about Google Calendar is its ability to interpret information. For example, you can click on "Quick add" and type in a phrase such as "lunch at Angelo's Cafe with Mary tomorrow at 12:30" and it will automatically create an event with the time and place inserted in the appropriate fields. It even recognizes when emails received in your Gmail account mention events, and offers you the option of clicking to add them to your calendar.
You can also click to search public calendars for holidays, TV shows, sporting events, concerts, and other topics, and when you find one that interests you, you can simply click to add it to your own calendar.
