Preparing for 2008

Preparing for 2008 The hustle and bustle of the holidays are over and now it's time to plan for 2008. It will take some time to put away all the holiday decorations and to finish up giving away the treats. New Year's Eve will soon be here and with it a time of contemplation. We'll have time to be quiet and review all that we accomplished in 2007 and a few things we have yet to tackle. I suggest we begin with the accomplishments: Take time to look through photos of time spent with family and friends. After looking at all of them it may be time to begin sorting. Save the ones that are really great and delete the ones that aren't. Create digital or paper albums and label the photos so future generations will know who they are looking at and where the pictures were taken. Remember trips enjoyed, visits with friends, or any other special times. There's always room for remembering and enjoying the fruits of our labors. When all the remembering is complete it may be time to sort through the gifts. Thee are some that we will use and others that need to be passed on. If you know of a person who would like what you received but don't need pass it on. If no one comes to mind bring it to a charity. In any case, use it or lose it! When I write thank you notes, I have even taken to mentioning the person I gave the present to in hopes that next year the giver will just come and visit. The best present is a friend or family member's presence during the holidays or anytime. If we all could learn this the holidays might be so much more fun and less hectic. Enjoy planning for 2008.
