ELIMINATE MORNING MANIA!

If you're in need of tips to help get the family up and out of the house without all the hassle then keep reading today and be sure to stop back the next few weeks.

Buzz-z-z-z! You try to hide under the covers to catch a few more winks and come up with reasons why you should stay in bed. Are you sick?  Did it snow? Is it Saturday?

Buzz-z-z-z! No! It's only Tuesday. You give up and get out of bed. But as you do, you pray: Please let the morning go smoothly with the kids.

So begins one of the most difficult elements of busy parents: getting everyone up and out. Is there any relief? Yes, if you're willing to try some new techniques.

Begin by streamlining the morning by doing things the night before. Analyze what needs to be done each morning like bodies cleaned, dressed, fed, and equipped with notes, crayons, packing lunches or giving lunch money.

Think about everything that needs to be done and consider:  Of all these tasks, which ones can be done the night before?

You could set the breakfast table the night before.  I grew up with a mother who did this every night. She put out cereal bowls, spoons, the cereal, sugar, bananas, orange just cups …everything but the O.J. & milk! You can put out any fruit your family enjoys that can sit at room temperature. As the family grows and can handle helping you could rotate this set up task between the kids and parents.

Meet me here next week when we'll add packing lunches, a "morning box", and easy bedwear.
