 Maximizing your Cupboard Space
One of the keys to an organized kitchen is maximizing your cupboard space. So, here are some tips for expanding your cupboard space without renovating the kitchen.
Perhaps the most untapped space is the inside of the cupboard door. This is a great place to store all kinds of things like your plastic lids, seasoning packets or plastic wrap.
Another way to gain extra cupboard space is by using under-the-shelf baskets. Depending on
their depth, they can store anything from placemats to dishes. Another neat idea is OrganizedLiving's pop-out dispenser for coffee filters. Just mount it under the cabinet over your coffee maker.
Mugs or Wineglasses can also be hung from under the shelf-mounted racks to free up space for plates or bowls on the shelfspace below.
For deep or hard to reach corners, a single or double-tiered turn table can bring items around within reach. Larger lazy susans can be purchased for lower cabinets.
Do you have a favorite small appliance that you'd like to use often but don't have countertop space for? This heavy duty chrome mixer shelf from Rev-a-shelf allows you to have your mixer at counter level when you need it and then stored out of sight when you don't.
So, sort through your cupboards and pass on any items you no longer use/need. Take an inventory of what's remaining, measure your cupboards and make a plan for maximizing your cupboard space.
