Prioritize Your Marketing

Every wonder how to find time to fit in the marketing you need to do?  Especially with the advent of social marketing - just when are you supposed to find time to Facebook, Twitter, Link In, blog, and U-Tube?   So often, the aspect of your business that needs the most attention - marketing - gets lost in the shuffle of managing clients, designing programs and products and day to day administrative details.  You must commit to marketing a priority - every day - but if you use your time wisely it's easier than you think.   Whenever possible, start the first hour of your day with "bottom line" activities.  Instead of surfing the net or answering emails, use that first hour to do research, work on a product or...

Creating Plan Me

I love summer and it never feels quite long enough (especially in Seattle where we tend to obsessively keep track of sunny days). This year I decided I didn't want to let another summer pass strewn with good intentions.  This spring, I created a "Priority ME" one step at a time plan for what I wanted to manifest in my health, business and personal life.  There were a lot of things on the list – rebranding my business, changing up my fitness regimen, committing to make visiting family and friends on the East Coast a priority, creating 2 new coaching programs and a membership site, and creating new relationships with other local women entrepreneurs and coaches.  There were many good reasons that helped keep my...

What's the point? It should be you.

Interior designers know that to create a visually appealing, warm and inviting space you start with a focal point. It could be a beautiful piece of furniture, art or a dramatic view.  Once you have your focal point you can remodel, paint, paper, and tile – you've got a vision and a plan and you know just how it's going to turn out! Making YOU the focal point is a simple, positive way to design your life. When you are operating at peak performance you have the energy, purpose and passion to influence your world and your relationships in a very powerful way.  It helps all the other elements in your life fall into place.  In other words, secure your own oxygen mask before attempting to assist others.  As...

The Backward Planner

Chances are you've heard of the Backward Planning Method, but if you haven't it's a strategy that has been used by military strategists for many years. It's also a great way to work with your clients to create a plan of attack for getting them out of overwhelm. One of the problems many of us face is that we do have a certain image of how we'd like our life to be – and even exactly what we want – but don't have a clue about how to get there.  The "Big Idea" then becomes vague and unattainable so we stop trying and give up. This is where Backward Planning can help.  It will answer the questions you need to get your desired result – such as: How do I do this? What will it cost? What equipment or skills...

Website Wisdom

One of the best investments I made several years ago was a CD/workbook home study product called Website Wisdom by 7 figure marketing coach Kendall Summerhawk.  At that time I had already created 2 websites, neither of which were very successful.  I went through 4 web designers and at least that many virtual assistants - none of whom seemed to understand my vision for my site.  Although I spent a lot of time, money and trial and error I learned some important lessons on creating a website that gets noticed.    Here are my 5 takeaways from website lessons learned:   1.  Be ultra clear on your niche before you start building your site.  Marketing to everyone is marketing to no one. ...

Your Money Cycle - Blessing or Curse?

This week's blog is an article from Kendall Summerhawk, founder of IAWBC (International Assn of Women in Business Coaching) and 7 figure entrepreneur and coach.  As solopreneurs and women business owners, I think we all experience "money drama" from time to time and this article really resonated to me - and I hope to you too.   Whether you're aware of it or not, every woman has her own "money cycle." If you're NOT aware of what your cycle is, you can end up feeling at the mercy of "having more month than you have money" or feeling frustrated and cranky as to why money seems to flow in and out of your life without any real predictability.   But, if you peek behind the curtain you'll discover that most...

Life is not a stress rehearsal

When is the last time you had some fun? I mean the kind that keeps a smile on your face for at least 30 minutes! I don't know about you but I can get so involved in a project or goal that I forget to come up for air!  And I can always tell that I need to take a break and enjoy myself when the idea of taking a break to enjoy myself annoys me.  I It's as important as any function in your business to take time to have some fun.  It ignites your energy and motivation - it's a vital nutrient for your success support system.    I've designated June as Give Yourself the Gift of Energy Month for busy women professionals and entrepreneurs and we're...
