Baby? What Equipment to Choose
Choosing baby gear can be overwhelming. There are so many choices on the market today and in so many price points. When considering the purchase of baby gear, spend the money on the all-important pieces of equipment—The Three C's: Crib, Car seat, and Carriage. These are the pieces that will take the most wear and tear over the years; therefore, they need to be durable and high quality. Also keep in mind that if you're considering having more than one child, there's the future wear and tear factor. The Three C's 1. Crib Next to the stroller, this piece of equipment is the most widely used. With baby sleeping more than twelve hours a day, napping, and sometimes having quiet time playing or looking at books, it's...

Car Organizing for Moms
I can't tell you how many times I've picked up my children from school and they are immediately requesting a snack. Warehouses like Costco and Sam's allow you to buy snacks in bulk. Consider a container in the trunk for snacks and water bottles for those days when kids MUST have a snack immediately after stepping foot into the car.
According to a survey of women, 62 percent say their car is like another living space. For moms on the go, we know that to a certain extent, this is true. Therefore, why not take the time to organize it so it's a functional space.
Here are 4 simple solutions to eliminate trash, store papers, and contain stuff: ...

A Case of Too Much Information
While in Florida this past weekend for a girl's weekend with my mom and sister, we stopped for a Starbucks…an addiction that I'm thinking about quitting. The young woman behind the counter who took my order was about 7 months pregnant. All belly. Very cute! This was her first baby and she was obviously excited.

Stain removal made easy
Mom's become experts in many areas as children grow. In the event you haven't been schooled on Stain Removal, here's a chance to at least gain knowledge of the basics: 1. Always have a bottle of Shout or equivelant on hand. Spray spots immediately after you've removed baby's clothing so the stain removal has a chance to work even before the article of clothing is washed. 2. To avoid stains settling into the piece of clothing, here are some quick guidelines for particular types of stains: a. Spit-up: If possible, immediately wet spot with water and flush the stain. You can also use vinegar to dilute the stain. Spray the stain again with stain remover before washing. Some stains will require repeated washing...

Got Kids? Then you have toys!
If you're like most moms, you overbuy when the first baby comes along and you wind up with enough toys to open a small preschool. When babies are little, maintaining the number of toys can be manageable, but as they grow, it becomes increasingly challenging to know what to keep, when to get rid of something, and how to store it until the next baby comes along.
I do...

The Truth about Babyproofing
So, I recently read an article where someone suggested it was a good idea to baby proof in your first trimester of pregnancy. I don't know about you, but I spent a good bit of time with my feet up and my head on a pillow because my body was adjusting to the changes it was experiencing. The truth is: Unless you're giving birth to a "super baby," he or she won't even begin to crawl until they're at least five to six months old. And, each baby gets into different types of trouble when they begin to move about, so although you may baby proof your house like it's Fort Knox, it could be completely unnecessary in the end! If you must get started now, begin by crawling around at their level to see...

Let it begin with you!
I'm beginning this blog with you…because if mama's not happy, ain't nobody happy! When was the last time someone told you to do something for yourself? Most likely, it will need to be you who makes "me time" happen. As you get further into motherhood, it becomes harder to make time for yourself, so start early on and release the mom guilt. Voice your needs and organize some time to recharge your batteries or rejuvenate your soul. Take action and enlist dad's help to watch baby and schedule a spa treatment or take a simple walk through the park or a bookstore. Give your spouse "his time" too. That way neither one of you will become resentful that it's always about baby, and you'll both appreciate family time. To...
