Computer Learning Month

How many times have you said, "If would just learn how to use this stupid computer, my life would be so much easier"? In our high-tech society, not knowing how to OPERATE a computer can be a real handicap. So much of our daily work is handled electronically -- not to mention the fact that computers are an incredible organizational TOOL, if you use them to your full advantage (meaning, you know how to do more than just create a document in Word). Your programs probably contain a ton of useful FEATURES that you have never tried (or even knew about!) If you're going to be truly organized, don't you think it's time you got up to speed?

Some Practical Organizing Tips...

Try to computerize your recurring APPOINTMENTS (paying taxes, monthly meetings, etc.). Try a contact manager -- or register with an online reminder service that e-mails you when the date is near. The less you have to remember, the better!
Learn to use your programs. You might teach yourself the basics -- but you may need to take a CLASS to learn the higher functions and more complicated features. However, the time and money you invest will be saved ten-fold later on.
Get your hard drive in order. Do you have all of your documents dumped into the "C" drive? No wonder you can't find anything! Treat your hard drive like a filing cabinet -- divided up into logically labeled FOLDERS which contain your documents.
